If you love nature then Boulders Penguin Colony is a definite bucket list item. The colony consists of about 1800 penguins who have made this site their home. Human interaction and building have stunted the penguins colony growth but they seem stable for now.

The protected park consists of three pristine beaches, a penguin viewing area, and three separate boardwalks. The viewing areas have been setup in such a way as to allow the penguins freedom to live their daily lives without major pressure from tourists.

Sidenote: The colony at Kleinmond are much larger at an approximate count of 13000 birds. It is, however, worth the drive for photographic opportunities.
